POSITION TITLE:  Systems Engineer

Virtual IT, Inc. is looking to hire a professional who is experienced in providing administrative support for various desktop and server based operating systems. This professional also needs to be capable of and enjoy providing clients with excellent customer service.

Candidate must be able to consult and communicate at the business level to customers on the value that the proposed IT solutions will have on their business.

Candidate must be able to work directly with senior managers and executives at customer locations to review the health of their IT systems in a manner that is positive, proactive and conducive to cooperation and teamwork.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Exchange troubleshooting
- Active directory roles
- General network maintenance
- Backup planning & implementing
- Disaster recovery planning
- Provide advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution
- Provide system administration and support
- Network diagram and documentation
- Coordinate with customers and vendors in the development and deployment of new applications
- Communicate professionally and provide clients with confidence in their IT solutions provider
- Coordinate multiple projects for groups of customers
- Participate in development and maintenance of network system infrastructure
- Provide integrated systems planning
- Develop relationships with existing and potential clients

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

- MCSE certification
- 6+ yrs overall experience in the IT networking industry (education will be considered)
- 8 yrs customers support in the IT industry
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects
- Understands business requirements and able to recommend appropriate IT solutions
- Capable of designing and implementing network based application technology
- Understands and manages complex interrelationships with software and hardware
- Proficient in coordination of vendors and organizations to quickly resolve service affecting problems
- Able to independently troubleshoot and resolve service affecting issues
- Can demonstrate innovation in mitigating and resolving issues
- Likes to build and maintain relationship with customers

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

FINGER DEXTERITY:   Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.

TALKING:   Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

AVERAGE HEARING:   Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

REPETITIVE MOTIONS:   Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and fingers.

AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES:   Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:   Medium work; exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly.

WORKING CONDITIONS

NONE:   No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions. (Such as in a typical office.)

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

REASONING ABILITY:   Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization.
Able to interpret various instructions.

MATHEMATICS ABILITY:   Ability to perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percents, and to draw and interpret graphs.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:   Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias.  Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.  Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis; correct punctuation (or sign equivalent) and variation in word order; using present, perfect, and future tenses.
